Ardabil Carpet

Ardabil is a city in the northwest of Iran and on the edge of the Caspian Sea. Ardabil carpets are usually woven with the famous Herati design and small fishes. During the time of the Christian tsars, a large number of Russian Muslims immigrated to Ardabil. We can say the designs of this region are modeled after the designs of the Caucasus. The distinctive feature of these designs is the geometric motifs that you can see in most of the urban and rural carpets of Ardabil.
