After the Safavid era, carpet weaving also lost its importance and was almost forgotten. But again during the reign of Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar, Zal al-Sultan (the ruler of Isfahan) brought rug weavers from Kurdistan to Isfahan with valuable art and gave it a new lease of life. Today, most of the valuable rugs of Isfahan can be seen in museums in London, Paris, and America.
