Mahal rug history

The Mahal( Mahallat) rug is a handmade Iranian rug woven in the Mahallat region near Arak (the capital of Markazi Province). The Arak region has a very rich history of rug weaving. The Ziegler Company opened its office in the region in 1883. The company was initially an importer of English goods, but by setting up a rug manufacturing workshop in the Arak region, it was able to supply many carpets from this region to European and American countries.
