The double-sided silk carpet is woven in Doidokh village in North Khorasan province. The peak of art and elegance of the Turkmen nomads is used in double-sided carpet, which has made this carpet unique in terms of technique, patterns, composition and color. The silks used to weave this particular carpet are natural silks. It is interesting to know that Turkmen people produce natural silk themselves. They first produce cocoons using mulberry leaves and silkworms. After that, they dye the silk threads using natural colors. Then, using the designs of their creative minds, they weave beautiful handmade rugs. Some of the patterns of Doidokh carpets have been registered in the world.
